Would you like to have a short commute to work, support the community of Hutton, have a variety of duties and flexibility in your job? If so, Hutton Village Hall is looking to appoint a Part time Caretaker, Working between 10 – 18 hours per month.

Job Description.

Job Title: Caretaker – Part Time.

Line Manager: Appointed Trustee of The Village Hall.

Location: All duties to be carried out at Hutton Village Hall ,60, Church Lane, Hutton, BS24 9SN.

Hours of work: 10 -18 hours per month to be worked on specific days and as the duties dictate. The hours will vary according to the needs of the Hall, but will not fall below 10 hours per Month.

Salary: £13.00 per hour.

General Duties:

  • To replenish consumables and empty waste bins as necessary on Wednesdays after midday or Thursday before 9.45am and after parties and functions = 2 hours monthly.
  • Clean any area on the premises after events/hires if they have been left in an unsatisfactory condition. (Photo evidence is required for the Booking Officer prior to undertaking the work.) Report any faults or damages by email.
  • Notify Management Committee of consumables stock requirements. 15 minutes.
  • Test the fire alarm weekly.15 minutes.
  • Check all plug – in appliances on the premises on a weekly basis. 30 minutes.
  • Respond to calls to the hall when there is a failure of heating or equipment.
  • Be available to deactivate the alarm as required (between the hours of 8.30am and 11.30pm. 10 per month. 1 hour per month.

Cleaning:

On Monday morning:

  • Clean all toilets, mop floors and replenish consumables.
  • Clean the kitchen and kitchenette, change tea towels.
  • Vacuum, sweep the mats and lobby area.
  • Dust skirtings, around windows and ceiling lights on a monthly basis.
  • Cleaning duties – I hour 30 minutes per week.

By agreement only: -

Early/ late lockups – 30 minutes and extra as required.

Additional tasks e.g. small repairs and maintenance tasks.

10 - 18 Hours per month @ £13.00 per hour.

Full training will be given and the successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Trustees who are volunteers and responsible for the management of the hall.
